LA is the city people love to hate. I am no different from the crowd. But today, I love LA. While reporting on the Grist item about Arbor Day and the lack of trees in urban centers, I went to my local power company website and found a program, Trees for a Green LA, that offers 5 free shade trees to any Department of Water and Power customer. The program requires me to take a 20 minute online course on how to plant and care for the trees, and after I complete a site plan, the DWP will deliver 5 trees to my home.
